What is a Thread Lift?
A thread lift is a skin elasticity improvement and lifting procedure performed in various forms using threads made from protein components that are harmless to the human body. There are various types, such as PDO, PLLA, and PCL — all are absorbable threads that naturally dissolve over time, and in the process of being absorbed, they help stimulate collagen production in the dermis. Thread lifting is one of the most widely used and popular lifting procedures.
01. PDO
PDO thread is made by compressing protein components suitable for the human body from a high-molecular substance. Even after the short-term lifting effect, the thread slowly dissolves, increasing collagen in the dermis, which helps improve elasticity and wrinkles.
02. PLLA
PLLA is manufactured from poly-L-lactic acid, a type of lactic acid extracted mainly from fruits. It has excellent collagen-stimulating properties and is used as a premium collagen treatment material similar to Sculptra, with very strong fixation power within the skin.
03. PCL
PCL can simply be described as an upgraded version of PDO thread.
Compared to PDO thread, it lasts longer, has superior elasticity, and is softer, making it less likely to be felt compared to other threads.
